I'm a professor of linguistics at the University of Leeds, UK.
My research explores the following themes:

- Individual differences in language development (due to environmental and cognitive factors)
- Cross-linguistic influences in advanced L2 speakers
- Information structure and discourse competence
- Experimental syntax
I have a keen interest in statistical modelling and data visualisation in R.
Through Language@Leeds and the Centre for Applied Education Research, I try to develop partnerships with teachers to enhance research-informed approaches to education.
